Christie has been a part of the Evergreen Insurance family since February 2018. She has a background in the insurance industry as she worked for her dad’s agency as a licensed agent before coming to Evergreen. She started at Evergreen answering phones and doing service work and eventually added on marketing and other projects. She calls herself the “Swiss Army Knife” of the agency as she can do pretty much anything needed.
Christie went to college at Western Washington University and studied exercise science, intending to continue her studies in physical therapy. Along the way, she met the love of her life, Derek, and after she graduated, they married and he whisked her off to Hawaii where he was stationed in the U.S. Army. She began work in the fitness industry as a group fitness instructor and eventually moved up into management. After Derek was transferred back to the Pacific Northwest, she worked in corporate fitness for over six years managing multiple fitness centers. She started her own personal training business and continued teaching group fitness classes for a few local gyms.
Her dad had owned his own insurance agency for many years and when Christie moved back to the area, she got licensed. She worked for him for over 10 years until he retired and then sought out Jesse and Marie, who she knew through church. She was excited to be able to continue working in the insurance industry. She started working in the office and then eventually began working remotely from home after having her third child.
“The best thing about working for Evergreen Insurance is being able to do so many different things for the agency. From servicing customers to working on projects and marketing, it has been a great journey. I appreciate the flexibility since I homeschool my six children and have an in-home personal training business on the side.”
While you won’t see Christie in the office, you may hear her answer the phone or she may be the one emailing you back to answer your questions. When she isn’t on the computer working, she enjoys reading, running, and spending time with her family. Evergreen’s motto, “Because Family Matters” lines up completely with her values. You could say it’s a perfect fit!
